DeleteIn some countries the average weight of people is increasing and their levels of fitness and health are decreasing.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think are the causes of these problems and what measures could be taken to solve them?
Several countries can be seen where more people are getting obese as well as their well-being and health are declining. This is happening not only because of their sedentary lifestyle but also due to unhealthy dietary habits. However, these problems can be resolved by the introduction of physical activities and nutritious diet.
Firstly, inactive lifestyle is one of the main reasons of weight gain in some people. Dependence of people on automated modern technology is augmenting, which is more convenient and effortless, that have made people lethargic. People execute their tasks without much mobility that they used to do in past. In America, for instance, online shopping has been adopted by 80% of population because it allows them to buy grocery or clothes without leaving their homes or offices. Another reason is competitive and busy job environment, due to which people prefer junk food as they do not have time to cook food for them. Consequently, level of fats and cholesterol is elevating in human bodies as junk food is mainly comprised of cheese, salt and impure oil. Therefore, less physical activities and consumption of oily junk food is responsible for unhealthy and over-weight people.
To mitigate these issues, people should add physical activities such as exercise, walk and outdoor games in daily routine. The rule making authorities of educational institutes and offices should arrange and direct everyone to take part in these events. Moreover, seminars should be arranged to spread awareness pertinent to healthy food and physical activities. Besides that, government should circulate a standard diet chart for people of all ages that should consists of necessary ingredients for a fit body. Furthermore, to minimize the sale of junk food, attractive advertisements should be banned, and taxes should also be raised. Therefore, introduction of physical activities and nutritious diet can improve health conditions of people.
Concluding, some people are becoming unhealthy because of stationary lifestyle and inappropriate diet resulting in excess weight gain. These issues can be solved by following a proper nutritious diet plan and exercise in life.
Q : The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present time.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the causes of this continued rise?
Do you agree that it the greatest problem faced by humanity?
In today's world, several issues are generally called the biggest problem of the globe. The consistent increase in population is one of the boldest among others. While I confirm that it is a critical problem that should be dealt with by people around the world, in fact, the resources and needs of the individuals are the real problems. This essay will take a look at the reasons for this problem.
If we scrutinize the population trend in last recent years, the first thing we will find out is that it varies drastically in different regions. The point is that one of the main causes of this problem is poor birth control in certain countries. India and China, for example, which contain a third of the whole world's population combined, have encountered various issues such as providing land and energy for their people. As appose to this, many developed European countries suffer from an aged population and shortages of young work-force. Thus, methods of education and cultural aspects play a major role in population increase.
Furthermore, another significant contributing factor to population rise, is governments' principles on population control. For example, in many middle-eastern countries that are interfering with disastrous incidents such as war or extreme poverty, the government encourages people to give birth in order to help the country's economy keep going or to join the military.
In brief, although I slightly agree that our planet is overpopulated and there are not enough resources and place to live for all, this problem can be easily diminished by scattering people -decentralization of public facilities and job opportunities is highly recommended- instead of insisting on living in urban areas.

ReplyDeleteSome people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives.
Which viewpoint do you agree with?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
We are living in a world abundant with adverts. While some people hold that these ads help them choose the best product, others believe that commercials aim to persuade them to buy a product no matter it suits their needs. In my view, ads are rather persuasive than practical and also profitable for media and large companies. This essay will demonstrate why advertisement does not contribute to choosing the best option.
Firstly, advertising is mainly available for big companies because they are too expensive these days. Therefore, small businesses that are new in the market cannot afford to advertise in mainstreams such as TV commercials, gigantic billboards in cities, or a celebrity endorsement. So, there only remains big leading companies that people are already familiar with them. In short, the advertising industry's primary target is not the consumers but to create a rivalry among big companies to make profits for the advertisers.
Secondly, adverts usually tend to exaggerate about products quality or uses. Although there are firm laws to prevent commercial fraud, there are still loads of adverts that are not identical to the actual product. This can be mainly seen in tabloids and internet pop-up adverts, where people have experienced purchasing products that they saw in an advert. Still, the final product was not what they expected in terms of neither practice nor quality. In brief, adverts might not be the most reliable and rational way to a satisfying purchase.
To conclude, however, the quantity of various advertising methods has been increasing; I deem that it does not provide efficient information for people, as it is money-making to the mass media and large companies.
Q : Smart devices have put all the world’s information at our fingertips. The benefits of this development are obvious, but what are the drawbacks?
ReplyDeleteThe time that people had to spend hours in the libraries to find books and articles related to their research has passed. These days, conversely, all we need is access to the internet, and then a tremendous number of resources are available. Despite all the advantages of this revolution, there are also downsides to it. I think that the ridiculous convenient access to information can lead to laziness, and numbers of unreliable resources may bring uncertainty. This essay will take a look at these drawbacks and their negative impacts.
One of the boldest negative impacts of easy access to data through new technologies is that students are becoming lazy. This usually results in graduating from universities as unsophisticated and unskilled experts. When people do not make too much effort to gain the information, genuinely, data is not imprinted on their memories, so it will not last long. For example, many alumni are not able to recall information related to their thesis or use what they have learned in the related work field.
Another significant drawback of accessible information is that a majority of data on the internet is quite unreliable. However, the quantity is enormous, the quality and correctness are not always guaranteed. Wikipedia website, for instance, as the most famous virtual encyclopedia, contains too much false information since everyone can edit and input data there. This is entirely detrimental to books and articles that can be found on libraries’ shelves, as all books are published after being evaluated and inspected thoroughly.
To summarize, however convenient access to knowledge has a few downsides that two of them have been mentioned in this essay, I believe that all in all advantages of this evolution outweigh its drawbacks. It is also projected that the progression of technologies will eliminate consisting imperfections in the near future.
Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on your children.
ReplyDeleteDo you agree or disagree?
Using a computer is a totally ubiquitous trend in the current century. Thus, even children from an early age are engaged with its impacts. However, this has a limited number of advantages; there are more downsides to it. I completely agree that the drawbacks of using a computer daily by children outnumber its advantages. In this essay, the reasons for this statement will be discussed.
One of the first negative effects of working with a computer every day is physical damages. Using computers for children is highly addictive, therefore, they usually tend to spend most of their time in a day behind a laptop, which is a sedentary activity. This will lead to physical issues for children, such as obesity. In addition, looking at computer screens is linked to eye problems such as dry eye. Adding backache and other physical damages makes it quite convincing that computers' daily usage can be harmful to children.
Another negative impact of using computers every day on children is the decrease in their skill development. Skills that cannot be discovered when they do not engage in other activities. Children learn how to use computers at an early age. Simultaneously, they do not show strong incentives to learn other skills, such as drawings, paintings, and playing a musical instrument, which implies that they are limiting themselves. Consequently, they will not be able to find their talents, which eventually can lead to facing problems when they reach the age when they must choose a career.
In summary, even though learning how to use a computer is essential for children, daily use of technological devices affects them negatively, both physically and mentally. In order to minimize these consequences, parents are recommended to exercise some control over their children to limit the time they are allowed to use a computer.
