Speaking Test Simulator

One day about a month ago, I had some free time, and started thinking about how the Temple could help people with their IELTS Speaking. I had an idea, and posted this on the Facebook Tips and Tricks group:

The pdf file linked to this...

Here’s a way to share your speaking if you’d like feedback
First, make sure your computer has a microphone that can access Facebook. If you’d rather not be seen, cover the webcam. You also need to use the Chrome browser.

In the Tips and Tricks group, first click the SPEAKING tab on the right part of the screen in the Popular Topics.
Click “Live video”…
once that is going come back to this page.
Then, scroll down….

Let’s talk about where you live. Have you lived in the same neighborhood for some time? What sort of neighborhood is it?

I didn't know if anyone was going to take advantage of this or not, but sure enough, a few hours later... A video had been posted from a member of the group answering my questions.  So I gave him some feedback!

I have since come up with a new feedback sheet....

Strengths: Fluency and well developed answers. Needs work: simple grammar mistakes repeated too often to be "slips", topic-specific vocab. Test skills needed: Listening for grammar prompts in the questions themselves, complete command of conditionals, and showing the same kind of enthusiastic word stress and rhythm when answering "boring" questions as he uses when he's got something interesting to say.

I'm going to add speaking feedback to the list of services provided around the back side of the Temple, by the money changers, but for now...

It's Free!

Speaking Test Simulator - Part 2 !

Obviously, this is not an unlimited offer, but for the first two or three who read and follow the instructions found here, you'll get some professional feedback on your speaking performance.

Feedback... Skip to the end if you need to because I think there's some important advice for a lot of IELTS students about pronunciation...
